New restaurant coming 2018

The year of 2018 we will be bringing you the: Summer House

This will be a new restaurant with extraordinary sea views looking over the incredible Perranporth beach, built on top of the cliffs.

80 covers inside & 80 outside, with it looking to be Cornwalls hottest spot this summer

History

It used to be the summer house for a wealthy local mine owner, Captain John Oates. He was the owner of the great Wheal Leisure mine which in 1870, was the richest copper mine in the district.

The house was purchased by Perranporth legend Pete Batchellors grandparents in 1924. Until recent years it was home to the Ponsmere hotel, which unfortunately came to the end of a lifetime close to a century.

The menu

We will be using our beautiful surrounding to our advantage. With the brilliant local fishermen & farmers on the doorstep, we won’t be short of the best ingredients around.

Opening dates

This stunning spot will be launching for summer 2018, specific dates yet to be confirmed

Carl Harding, Senior Associate Architect with Stride Treglown said:
“We are delighted to be supporting the Jobs in the development of these two exciting projects, following on from our involvement with the Dunes development. The team, based locally in our Truro office, are looking forward to visiting in the completed venues in the summer. Personally, as someone who grew up in Perranporth and still lives locally, it is great to see the investment being made in the town.”

Director Thomas Job said: “It’s almost 2 years now that we have been working hard on the preparations for this new project to launch this summer & I can assure you it will not disappoint. Cornwall has a lot to be excited about for 2018, this certainly is one of them.

Concluding for now

The finest chefs, mesmerising sunsets & views to die for.

An experience is about to be put forward that will be on par with no other.

Boasting sea views that will compete with what has made The Watering Hole such a memorable place to visit, this really is going to be something special!

Tunes in the Dunes- 30th June – 2nd July

An amzing festival, set on the beautiful golden sands of Perranporth beach in Cornwall. With a back drop of scenic cliffs and sand dunes, this will be a truly unique event where you can enjoy an ice cold beverage with your feet in the sand and the ocean only a stones throw away.

Born from the incredible live music that has been happening at The Watering Hole, the UK’s only venue on a beach. This is a first of it’s kind event for Perranporth, not to be missed. The event will take place on the last bank holiday in May.

Major headline acts to soon be revealed. The British longboard championships will be taking place in conjunction with Tunes in the Dunes, where some of the UK’s greatest long boarders will be battling it out in the surf. There is also camping available with hot tub parties on the beach and a skating halfpipe.

AFTER PARTIES

After parties will be continuing late into the night back at The Watering Hole where various acts from the festival will be DJing and performing.

Whole Clothing

WHOLE clothing was born out of the idea that surf clothing should be not only quality made but deeply rooted on the beach. You can’t get closer to the ocean than the UK’s only bar on the beach!

Rapidly growing from humble beginnings at The Watering Hole Perranporth, we are now proud to announce our brand new range for 2016 – and much more in the pipeline.

All stock is available from The Watering Hole and will also be available online VERY soon!

What’s happening in December

Well what an exciting November we have had, it will be finished off with 50% off everything on Black Friday with some acoustic vibes at the end of the night with Matt Wills & Tom Walker. Taking us onto Saturday night with a bit of Hip Hop, we are in for a real treat with the Mouse Outfit ft Dr Syntax plus many more to make it an action packed night.

The big story of November was probably the wind covering up the benches, leaving us sanded in, which is being fixed now by the hard working team. Again we are pretty happy it’s being blown in rather than away. One of many problems that we have to face through the Winter.

Now December is upon us & we cannot wait

The first week is kicked off with Free Burger Thursday. With each drink bought a FREE Burger is received, pretty good hey. This absolute Christmas cracker is then followed by the legendary frontman of REEF, Gary Stringer on the 4th December playing us a few songs for an intimate festive session. The Saturday then brings us Beardyman, which is looking like a sellout show, for a man who is a combined musician & comedian, well worth checking out. Just when you think it’s all over, we have the brilliant Sam Duckworth who used to be Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly playing an intimate show with us.

We then look ahead to the Second week with the great SHY FX breaking down some beats on the 12th December, followed by a jolly old Santa run on Sunday 13th.

The week after we have the brilliant Bad Manners lead by Buster Bloodvessel on the 19th, supported by the Mighty Offbeats. Then It’s Christmas Woooooo. Christmas day is the only day when hours are limited due to a family day.

we only open up until 2pm for hot & cold drinks. To finish the month off we have an ABBA 70s New Years eve party, which is going to be amazing, with a champagne reception and a stupendous gourmet buffet followed by some terrific bands to dance the night away to.

We wish everyone the best for December & we hope that no storms will be passing through our doors again 😀
