We are the watering hole, the only bar on the beach in the UK, fact! Europe/world, by my opinionated knowledge, yes. A spot that is a must see attraction on this fine island down south of our country, ‘when you go, you will never leave’.
We are found in the middle of Cornwall’s finest beach on the west coast, with a 3 mile stretch of sand shadowed by dunes and sea as far as the eye can go, with Holywell on our right shoulder and St Agnes on our left.

Being the only bar on the beach in the UK gathers a lot of attention!
From top 10 lists, to things you need to know when dating a cornish girl; here are a few links to places that we’ve been mentioned across the web!
Just over 30 years ago(1978) a man called Bob Job started up a shack on the beach, roaming the Perranporth coast with deck-chairs, surf hire and ice cream vans. Bill was in charge of this establishment before Bob but he then moved down under to Byron bay, which is where he still remains, passing his business onto a Bob, who revolutionized this shack into what is now The Watering Hole. Nobody is too sure on how it was allowed to become a bar / restaurant, but I guess it’s just one of those things that happens, making a difference to huge amounts of people every day.
“A blown out day, rain hitting the windows, sea roaring, wind howling….hands kept warm with the fire at my side, hot chocolate at my fingertips looking out at a view that one could only imagine, the movement and emotion created through this scenic view is second to none!”
Ben Skuse, Cornwall.
Packed my board/ wetsuit, that’s all I need, travelling down from the other side of the Tamar, park up at droskyn to see nothing but clear blue sky and 4ft clean swells coming in, the best view I have ever seen, close to pictures that I can only dream about. I rolled myself out of the sea after surfing all day with no energy left only to see my family at the watering hole, the only bar on a beach in the UK, I have never seen such an amazing place like this, sitting with rattler in hand a bowl of nachos, this was it, It’s going to be hard to top this life anywhere else in the world.
Walked my dog down this long stretched beach, with an amazing coastline stopping off at this amazing bar/ restaurant for a hot chocolate, dogs allowed as well, what a great place, I now visit at least 3 times a week and it has never let me down with its warming staff and friendly atmosphere creating a second home.
Francis Barnes, Truro.
